Some things never change. When I got married at the tender age of 23,
it rapidly became apparent that my wife did not approve of my buddies.
While I tried to fight her insistence of "better friends", I was
unprepared mentally and emotionally to wage the campaign needed to
remain with my then current set of friends. I relinquished against my
better judgment and made new friends that she liked better....but that
I liked less.
Here I am in the same damn situation. We bought this house 4 years ago
at a steal. Despite being 52 years old when we bought it, it had been
occupied by the same couple for all those 52 years. The original owners
had put in the best of everything. But my wife insisted on
updates....the remodeling began. Some of it I was ok with. The original
kitchen had to go. I updated that without a second thought. The high
grade wood paneling in the third bedroom had to be covered....ok.....
Then it happened. "We should retile the bathroom" she said. It seemed
to make sense...The floor was a bit worn and had a few cracks. The room
wasn't that big, so it would only be a one day job..."Sure" I said. I
unhooked and gently carried the toilet to the garage, not knowing
she...my friend and confidant...would never return.
You see, she's an older style toilet, with a low back and longer
bowl. I guess her older appearance wasn't up to par for my wife....She
obviously didn't see the inner beauty of the old, time tested and true
commode. With her quiet flush and wider channels, she was always a
pleasure to work with....oh the times we had...but as the seasons
change….so must my commode. Our President says change is good…..he
obviously hasn’t sat on my shitter.
I can only check emails in the evening…so keep your pants on.. I’ll get back to you.
